Tisane, or herbal tea, is a great way to enjoy the goodness of ginger. All you need is a piece of fresh ginger and clean water. If you want you can add a bit of honey and a splash of fresh lemon juice. It’s a great way to start the day!

2 cm piece of fresh ginger, thinly sliced
1 cup boiling water
Honey (optional)
Lemon (optional)


How to:

Place sliced ginger in a tea infuser inside a mug.

Pour hot water in mug,

Cover the mug and steep for five minutes.

Remove infuser before drinking.

If you do not own a tea infuser, then strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve to catch the ginger pieces.

Stir and enjoy!


If you’re looking for a spicier ginger tea, then steep the ginger in the tea for longer or try grating the ginger rather than slicing it. Why not try a few mint leaves, a cinnamon stick or be adventurous and add a pinch of cayenne.
