A decision has been announced by the Federal Government to set the backpacker tax at 19 percent from the first dollar earned from the 1 January 2017, rather than 32.5 percent.
This rate will ensure that Australia remains a competitive destination for working holiday makers and Australian Ginger Industry Association welcomes the decision.
